Our Latvian language courses are available for children and adults. Latvian language courses are held in small groups or individually.
We offer to prepare you for examination – Latvian citizenship acquisition and the centralized Latvian language examination for students.
Private Latvian language courses will best suit those who prefer one-on-one lessons with experienced teachers. These lessons give students the best opportunity to improve their speaking and grammar skills.
Our Latvian language courses are also suitable for complete beginners who have no prior Latvian language knowledge
Latvian language lessons take place in the language center “Pygmalion training classes” in Riga, Z.A. Meierovica bulvāris 18. Latvian language courses are also available online The flexibility of online learning helps you to keep yourself on track and can save you time.
Latvian language is the mother tongue of about 1.7 million people, but the total number of Latvian language speakers is above 2 million. Latvian language is one of the official languages in European Union.
Latvian language vocabulary is wide with many Latin and Greek stem words., as well. Notice! You must be careful and pay attention to the compulsory use of the macron signs in conversation, as this is crucial and can change the meaning of words. For instance, word (kazas) means goats and word (kāzas) means wedding. Tricky isn’t it?
Pygmalion Latvian language courses are run by experienced, qualified and friendly teachers from Latvia. Our teaching techniques, learning materials and interactive training resources will help you to learn Latvian more effectively. We apply a method of interactive communications in fun-filled learning environment which allows our students to speak Latvian starting from the very first lesson. At the same time, it helps students to learn Latvian and enables them to communicate freely.
Latvian language courses are implemented in accordance with teaching guidelines (CEFR) developed by the Council of Europe. Language courses usually last between 3 and 7 months depending on the training process intensity.
At the end of the language course a final test is taken and the language center Pygmalion issues a Certificate of the Professional Development Program. Our students are encouraged to continue learning and improving their language skills.
