IELTS
The International English Language Testing System or IELTS is an international standardised test of English language proficiency for non-native English language speakers (www.ielts.org)
There are two exam modules:
- General Training
- Academic
IELTS certificate validity: 2 years
IELTS test consists of four parts:
- Listening Comprehension;
- Reading Comprehension;
- Written Comprehension;
- Interview.
IELTS preparation courses at Language Centre Pygmalion will give you more confidence about your skills, will give you a clear understanding of test structure, will teach you how to use the time given at the test day.
The course consists of 32 hours, 4 weeks. Lessons take place in groups of 3-6 people. Level of students - not lower than B1. Price for the course 224.00 eur.

TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) is a standardized test of English language proficiency for non-native English language speakers wishing to enroll in U.S. universities. The test is accepted by many English-speaking academic and professional institutions. TOEFL is one of the two major English-language tests in the world, the other being the IELTS.
TOEFL iBT tests consists of four parts:
- Reading;
- Listening;
- Writing;
- Speaking.

Preparation course

FCE

Upper intermediate = B2 on the Common European Framework.
Who should take this exam?
You should study for the FCE if you want to work in an English-speaking business, live in an English-speaking country or study a foundation-level or pre-university course taught in English.
To take the exam you should be able to:
- write short reports and emails
- explain an idea or have a detailed discussion in English
- understand general English on TV and in newspapers.
CAE
CAE Cambridge English: Advanced is also known as the Cambridge Advanced Certificate in English (CAE). This general English qualification shows that your English is of a standard expected of a professional business person or an undergraduate university student.
CAE level of qualification
Advanced = C1 on the Common European Framework.
Who should take this exam?
You should take CAE if you want to prove to employers or universities that you can communicate confidently in English in professional and high-level academic situations. To take the exam you should be able to:
- write complex reports and emails, and take notes in meetings or lectures
- give presentations on complicated ideas in English
- understand a variety of texts, from fiction to newspaper opinion pieces.
